“Destroy their plans, O Lord, confuse their tongues, for I see violence and strife in the city. Day and night they go around it on its walls; and mischief and trouble are within it, ruin id in its midst; oppression and fraud do not depart from its market place.”
“But it is you, my equal, my companion, my familiar friend. We used to hold sweet converse together; within God’s house we walked in fellowship.”
Persons are created in the image of God to be cared, be treated with dignity and to be protected, so life is sacred.
The bombing last night, September 2 was an incident that happened in our beloved city of Davao. The United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) Southeast Mindanao Jurisdictional Area condemns in the strongest term this inhuman act that led to the death of 14 innocent people, injuring 60 more and 3 are in critical condi
We call to all people in Davao City especially the church people to be vigilant in these critical times. We pray for the families of victims for comfort and hope. We also pray that as peace loving citizens of our co
untry, we should uphold and embrace the message of peace and justice to be in our midst as we walk in the way of unity as people of God in these troubled times. We will not allow that we will be corrupted by the forces of falsehood and deception but rather to be steadfast in our commitment to pursue peace and justice which are gifts from God.
